School council

At Offord Primary School, we want our pupils to grow into confident, responsible citizens who understand their place in the world and feel empowered to influence it. We value their views and actively support their thinking, decision‑making and leadership.

One of the key ways we promote pupil voice is through our School Council. Each year, every class elects two representatives to speak on their behalf. These councillors share their classmates’ ideas about school life and explore ways they can contribute positively to the village community and beyond.

School Councillors take a leading role in organising charitable events such as Children in Need and Red Nose Day. They may also represent the school during visits to public places and are responsible for feeding back important information to their classes. Each year, the councillors elect a Chair, who leads discussions and helps guide the work of the Council.

Being a School Councillor is a valued and respected role—one that our pupils take great pride in and consistently excel at.
