Special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)

Offord Primary School is committed to providing an inclusive, happy, stimulating and challenging environment where every child’s potential is recognised and valued. We aim to ensure all pupils grow into confident members of the wider community, with respect for themselves and for others.

Our SENDCo is Mrs Antonia Drysdale, who can be contacted via the school office at office@offordprimaryschool.org.

We are dedicated to offering equal opportunities and high‑quality education and care for all children, enabling them to achieve their full potential. We work hard to eliminate prejudice and discrimination and to create a school environment where every child feels safe, supported and able to flourish.

The SEND Code of Practice (2015) sets out how schools must identify, assess, and support children with SEND. It introduced several key expectations, including:

  • A graduated approach to identifying and supporting needs
  • High‑quality teaching as the foundation for all SEND support
  • Regular monitoring and review of pupil progress
  • Clear communication with parents and carers
  • Annual reporting on how the school identifies and supports pupils with SEND

We follow the Code of Practice closely and ensure that our provision reflects national guidance and best practice.

For students with medical needs, we follow Government guidelines, details of which are available by clicking here

Your first contact for medical needs is Mrs Sarah Brown via the school office office@offordprimaryschool.org
