The Pupil Premium Grant is additional funding provided to schools each year by the Government to help improve the attainment of disadvantaged children. It is based on national research showing that pupils from lower‑income families often face additional barriers to learning. The funding is designed to directly support eligible pupils and help reduce the attainment gap between them and their peers.
How Pupil Premium is used at Offord Primary School
Funding has supported a wide range of projects and opportunities, including:
- Individual and small‑group support in reading, writing and maths
- Booster sessions and 1:1 tuition
- Music lessons
- After‑school sports activities
- Enrichment opportunities
- Day trips and residential visits
- Transition support
- Social skills groups
- Resources to enhance learning
- Activities designed to improve literacy, numeracy and wellbeing
This additional support has had a positive impact on pupils’ academic progress, confidence, behaviour and attitudes to learning.
