Our school day includes lunchtime provision. Children may bring a packed lunch from home or enjoy a hot school meal. All pupils in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are entitled to government‑funded Infant Free School Meals. For children in Years 3–6, meals must be paid for unless they qualify for Free School Meals.
From Year 3 onwards, school meals cost £2.40 per day or £12.00 per week. Our meals are provided by Caterlink. Their welcome leaflet and current menu can be found on this page. Payments are made through ParentPay; if you do not yet have an account, please contact the school office.
Your child may be eligible for Free School Meals if you receive any of the following:
- Income Support
- Income‑based Jobseeker’s Allowance
- Income‑related Employment and Support Allowance
- Child Tax Credit (without Working Tax Credit) and an annual gross income of £16,190 or less

If you choose to provide a packed lunch, please refer to our packed lunch guidance, available to download from the side panel. Research shows that healthy lunches support positive behaviour and learning. With growing concerns about childhood obesity and related health issues, we aim to help children develop healthy eating habits. We encourage families to follow the guidance to support informed choices. Water is always available, so an additional drink is optional.
Offord Primary School is part of the Health Promoting Schools Initiative and follows a healthy eating policy. Sweets, biscuits and crisps are not permitted at break times. Fruit is encouraged as a healthy alternative. We also take part in the County Initiative, which provides a free piece of fruit or vegetable each morning for pupils in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2.
We are registered with the Cool Milk Scheme, which is open to all pupils. Milk is free for children under five and available to pupils aged five and over at a cost of 24p per day. Registered pupils receive a carton of semi‑skimmed milk each day. Free milk continues until the Friday before your child’s fifth birthday, after which you will receive a payment request if you wish to continue.
